Information to peak your interest!

When: February 24th and 25th 2011

Where: University of Calgary

Background
The Taylor Family Digital Library’s Centre for Arts and Culture will feature a digital video game collection that will allow students and researchers to study a wide range of video games and interactive media objects.
The collection will serve as a hub to bring together those interested in using games and interactive media in their teaching and research. It will be a central place and service point that will do more than collect; it will actively bring scholars and instructors together and provide them with opportunities to share ideas and expertise with each other.

Our proposed symposium is the first step in that direction.

Our main objectives for this event are:

1. Equip participants with an appreciation of the multi-faceted potential of the video game medium for research and learning.

2. Introduce participants to the Taylor’s collection and services; exploring how to make this type of collection successful.
Internationally known speakers from the UK and USA are set to attend.
